Three Tips for a Highly Efficient Island Layout in Restaurant City

Three Tips for a Highly Efficient Island Layout in Restaurant City

The goal of Restaurant City is to have as effective and efficient of a layout as possible

So that you can build your restaurant in a way that allows you to get more customers in, serve faster, and never lose anything in the process. That’s a tall order and one that millions have trouble with seemingly every day. After all, there are endless combinations of stoves and chefs, waiters, and tables to serve and if they don’t all work in tandem perfectly, you’ll be hard pressed to build the ideal restaurant you’re aiming for.

What Are Islands?

The first thing you need to learn about is the island layout – a special layout that all the Restaurant City gurus are using right now to get as many customers into their space as possible without lowering the quality of service. The goal of this layout is to keep all of your moving parts together. Rather than putting stoves and chefs in a corner somewhere and ignoring them, you will put them directly next to the tables where the waiters can then grab the food and then turn around and serve it. Think of your layout as a donut with the waiters in the middle and the chefs at the edges, spread out at intervals of about three tables.

This works well because waiters can reach every table in the island with a maximum of 2 moves in any direction. The chefs are right there for quick access and customers end up waiting far less time than if they were sitting on the other side of the restaurant.

It also leaves a ton of room in your restaurant for things like toilets, arcades, and a maze by your front door to direct traffic inward. If you have a kitchen and a serving area, all split up as it is when you first start playing the game, you’re going to be very hard pressed to maintain a good handle of the customer service rate you need to do well.

Mastering the Island Layout

When you first get started, your island layout will be singular. All of your tables will go into one island with all of your chefs and waiters. This is the easiest way to do it because you can share waiters between the chefs and keep service moving. But, some people have been known to go out on a limb and start working with far more tables spread out across the entire restaurant – with two or even three islands.

This is a riskier proposition and one that may end up hurting you if it isn’t done properly. If you are considering having multiple islands, keep a few things in mind. First off, you need to have one chef for every 3 tables. Second, you should have a maximum of 5 chefs on the floor at any time. You can get away with 2 waiters for 5 chefs, or you can add a third waiter if you plan on staying logged in to clean your own toilets.

Whatever you do though, make sure to strike a good balance between the customers and your staff. Otherwise, you’ll quickly find it very hard to maintain your level of service given the lack of organization in your restaurant.

Restaurant City How To Get Level 10 Dishes

Restaurant City How To Get Level 10 Dishes

How to Get Level 10 Dishes on Your Menu Quickly

The key to success in Restaurant City is to develop and serve Level 10 Dishes – the highest level you can push your courses to. This does multiple things. First off, it makes it so you get almost three times as many experience points and popularity points from them for every customer you serve. More importantly, you get far more coins and your customers are easier to please, giving you more leeway in how you create and market your restaurant. This can result in a whole heck of a lot better service and a quicker route to the top for you, the restaurant’s owner.

How Hard Is It?

The big question then is how hard it is to reach level 10 with all those dishes. To put it in a bit of perspective, you will need around 2100 different ingredients to reach level 10 with every dish in the game. That’s not necessary though, because you obviously cannot serve every dish in the game at the same time. In fact, if you have Level 10 dishes, you only need to have one dish for each course and your customers will all be very happy.

That simplifies matters quite a bit, because getting the ingredients you’d need to level up all 58+ dishes to Level 10 would take months to complete unless you had hundreds of friends to choose from. So, you need to spend a great deal more time going about, finding the perfect menu items and getting just those to level 10, because as soon as you have one starter, one main course item, and one dessert to level 10, you’ll be well on your way.

How to Get All Those Ingredients

Getting even just 30+ ingredients you need to reach Level 10 with all three dishes is going to be tough though. Unless you plan on buying them all with Playfish Cash, you’re going to need to spend a lot of time trading and tracking down the specific ingredients you need to reach level 10 with just three dishes.

Along with that, there are some dishes that are much harder to get all those ingredients for. In terms of daily ingredients and quiz rewards, you get a good mixture of everything, so the dishes that use ingredients like Pomegranate or Oregano (which only appear in one dish each) are a lot easier to reach level 10 than others. Dishes that use cheese, cream, or sugar on the other hand are very tough because there are so many different dishes that need those ingredients. It becomes a simple matter of supply and demand.

Maxing Out Your Potential

The key to a good game of Restaurant City is to have the wherewithal to max out your dishes and then set up a good layout that will allow you to sell those dishes to anyone that comes in as fast as possible. If you can get a lot of neighbors, sell those dishes and build a good layout, you’ll be able to blow by your opponents quicker than you ever thought possible.

Mega Boosting and Keeping Your Popularity Rating in Restaurant City

Looking to boost and keeping your popularity rating in your Restaurant City Game? Well you are not alone! It really is one of the main measurements of success in the game so it is important to make sure you get it right. The last thing you want is for your popularity rating to start dropping due to silly mistakes.

This little rating, which appears in the upper right hand corner of the screen alongside a thumbs-up signal, is a vital aspect of the game that will tell you how well you are doing at making your customers happy. The higher the rating goes, the better you are doing and the more customers will appear to check out your restaurant. You will even start to notice when the rating gets very high that some customers will leave before sitting because there just isn’t enough space – that’s a good thing (as long as they don’t downgrade you for a wait).

How the Popularity Rating Works

The popularity rating is tied to a few different details. To start with, you receive popularity points or lose them whenever a customer rates your restaurant. There is either a thumbs-up or thumbs-down for your food, and technically, they are rating the restaurant and not the food as the food comes out the same every time.

What results in a bad rating in Restaurant City?

Things that cause bad ratings include

  • Wait times
  • Lack of tables
  • Slow service
  • Messiness
  • Lack of clean toilets

If you can keep all of these things from becoming factors, you will receive a thumbs-up.

That thumbs up is then worth one upgrade in your popularity points, depending on what level your dishes are.

  • At Level 1, your dishes are worth 0.1 on the popularity scale.
  • At Level 10, those dishes are worth 0.28.

It might not seem like a lot, but it can add up very quickly if you are looking to go really high with your rating. Generally speaking, your rating will top out at a few spots according to your service and how much space there is in your restaurant.

The maximum popularity rating in the game is a solid 50.0 which takes a tremendous amount of good service (usually with 8 full staff members), level 10 dishes, and a clean, well laid out restaurant to maintain.

How to Keep the Popularity Score High

Once you get a high popularity score, your goal needs to be, above and beyond all else, to keep it high. You do not want your restaurant to start dipping off at the max level because then you will start to lose customers and in turn, you will lose coins, and your revenues will drop. You will need that money when you reach the higher levels so that you can start upgrading the interior and exterior of your restaurant.

Keep your score high

  • Work on keeping everything clean
  • Maintaining a good service line with island layouts
  • Having enough tables
  • Enough chairs
  • Enough toilets
  •  If you cannot serve everyone, do not give them anything to do.
  • Having too many arcade units or waiting chairs can result in lowered ratings if the people in them get up and leave before they get to eat.

Ultimately, your popularity score is going to be a barometer of how well you are doing in the game. If you forget to check it often and cater your service toward it and things will quickly start to go downhill.
